How To Design A Small Space Container Garden
Also, do you need to throw away your container soil every year?
Happy Spring Everyone!
I wanted to share with you that I’ll be joining season 2 of Alan Titchmarsh’s Gardening Club airing on ITV on Mondays at 2pm. This year, I have an expanded role, where I’ll be meeting communities and organizations in urban areas to showcase some of the fantastic work they have been doing and hear the stories behind their gardens.
How To Design A Container Garden?
Now that the sun is out here in the UK, it’s really tempting to spend the weekend visiting our favourite nurseries and loading up on a whole load of plants, that probably won’t even work in our spaces. I know we are all guilty of this, myself included. So I decided to put together some advice to help you create your very own small space container garden.
It doesn’t matter if you are a newbie or you’ve got some experience gardening. There may be a few nuggets that you can use to help you improve your garden. So grab a pen, paper and a brew and give this video a watch. It may just help you plan, slightly rearrange your garden and have a successful growing season.
I cover quite a few things in the video, but my favourite being Step Two, “Be For Real”. Yes, I am shading you but hopefully by the end of the video.. You get what I mean.
If you found this video useful, let me know in the comments either here or on Youtube.
If you’d like to show me pictures of your small space, join my container garden group on Facebook and feel free to share there.
Do you have to throw away your container soil each year?
No. Well.. that was simple.
However, there are some caveats to that. You can extend soil life in your containers and reduce waste by improving your soil quality. I made a detailed video explaining my process and how I get the most out of my containers each year.
Hopefully, this will help you to create a much more successful container garden for this season.
Have a great weekend!
Jason
